I think I just need a new desktop… August 28, 2011 hkQQ2010 I can't syn with Internet Time server before. I also use Vista, but do not use AOL - still everything worked (although things on McAfee were a little different to find). The Advent 7016 laptop after synchronising with NIST agrees well enough with my MSF radio controlled clock. For example: I sync and it gets the right time(let's say 7:00) after one hour or less the clock is 6:53.

The time is usually within a minute or two of being accurate, but the year is miles off. Opening up port 123 in McAfee did the trick. And i always have to fix the time when i turn my computer on. To test this, open a command prompt as an administrator and enter "w32tm /resync" and see what error you get.

You should be able to synchronize your clock if you switch to Windows Firewall.
