We added one policy after the other back and after adding some GPO policies the issue started again. I have actually thought about recreating it and it may be my only choice as I do believe there is some corruption somewhere along the lines. In our case the problem was caused by an update deployed on the clients but not on the DC's. The machine had a static IP and we had since changed both DNS servers.
