I got it from ebay so finding and fixing the problem might be easier than trying to return and/or replace the burner. Perhaps ask the local repair shop to ensure that it is Master? If it shows a yellow ?

What exactly are you burning? It seems it won't write the "Lead-In" information but will burn some useless data to the disc before it spits out the error. last days i cant burn anymore... Turns out the root cause was an old style IDE cable, I replaced it with the slightly newer 40-pin, 80-conductor IDE cable and this solved my issue. The name should be something like Neroburningromlog.txt.Open it in Notepad and delete your serial number and then post it here, please.When you made the burn, did you have "verification" turned on?Are Tried burning both cds & dvds but its throwing the same error 2.
