- A service specific error occurred: 5.
- After restarting Windows, execute the following command via Start, Run dialog: CMD /K NETSH FIREWALL RESET Launch firewall applet from Control Panel, and see if you're able to configure the Windows
- Then I checked services and Base...
- So when I checked it, it said: "Windows Firewall is not using the recommended settings to protect your computer." When I press "Use recommended settings" nothing happens.
- The Windows Firewall service terminated with service-specific error 6801 (0x1A91). "net start mpssvc" in cmd.exe returns the system error 1297.
- This issue is also very specific because the firewall settings in Windows OneCare are grayed out and cannot be modified.
- Once in a while you do a system restore and then machine does not work still that means the problem existed then.
- I ran this command rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection Ndi-Steelhead 132 %windir%\inf\netrass.inf but nothing happened.
- Thanks for all the help!
