Windows Firewall Ics Service Cannot Start Error 2
I have copied these files from their source on the XP Home SP2 install CD and the Service Pack folder in the windows directory. AFD was already set to start up type as system. Following the advice here, I had this error code when I tried to start the firewall... After placing that DLL into the system32 folder I reran the command: Start > Run > CMD /K NETSH FIREWALL RESET . Since the ShareAccess registry I uploaded is for Windows Server 2003 R2 x86 and if your operating system is not the same, please find a correct registry to import. Also, have you tried updating to SP3 to see if that confirms installation of (or installs as needed) requisite files? Restart the computer and test the firewall again.
