Thnx for the effort   Friday, December 14, 2007 11:20 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Hi George,   Unfortunately it's not possible to send you the files I thought that it was an issue with Webroot Firewall so I closed it and ran it again, still no go.   I uploaded my cbs.log and checksur.log in a zip I'm getting this code message "0x800F081F", and it abort the installation unsucessfully. Trying to install VistaSP1 Bywaterproof Jun 12, 2009 I wanted to update to SP2 (I have Vista Ultimate 32bit) and it told me to download SP1, while installing, I get this http://pdctoday.com/windows-vista/windows-vista-sp2-error-0x800f081f.php

As far as doing research by my self, I did of course, hence the long list of stuff that I had already tried. I ran spacemonger and it revealed a blob.bin file (40gb in size) in the windows/winsxs/manifestcache folder. Did you get the text file that I uploaded to you of the cbs.log from 6/5/08 when I ran sfc /verifyonly at administrator level? I'd love to know how/if this problem gets resolved. I have both of these on a flash drive, everytime I do a rebuilt I just run them from the flash drive and they both install without a problem. The only difference is that it's a Dell Inspiron 1720 instead of the 1420 (I think the primary difference between the two is screen size...this one is 17 inch).
