- This should get you to the point where windows Vista will run a repair and complete and reboot.
- My Dell XPS 1710 has died on me in the same way everyone else experienced.

Just had this same problem on a customer's computer. Causes of Error 0xC01A001D Corrupt download or incomplete installation of Windows Vista software. Another program maliciously or mistakenly deleted Windows Vista-related files. The only thing they seem to be any good at in my opinion. 2.
It has been my experience that each new version of Windows adds new problems and does not solve many of the prior version's problems. I have been all over the internet looking for a way to fix this issue; no tech support person has been available to me so I was even more frustrated.
