In talking with friends, we think it might be a problem with one of the "Windows updates." Couldn't find a solution there anywhere!!! Yes, the player works (again this is a problem on both my laptop and desktop - and I have had this problem for years, on different computers).

On my machine, the problem was an improperly registered Ole32.dll file.

If it is Nero software, you may have to play with various settings. I inserted the System CD and the Recovery CD. I set recovery for 1st, 2nd & 3rd to "restart the service". When you say "deinstall SP2" do you mean for good or can I reinstall it after I fix the problem?

When have you DL'ed the latest drivers from the hardware vendor? then after 10-15 mins I get the message "Cannot Complete the CD Writing Wizard" ..
